Systems Unlimited is stepping into the world of podcasting with our brand-new show, “The Prompt”. The idea to begin a podcast came out of the Staff Development Committee. As the agency continues to grow, it becomes harder and harder for our staff to stay connected. The team decided that a podcast might really help staff to get to know each other better or hear discussions on relevant agency topics. The format of a podcast allows people to hear from others that they may not hear from day to day.
“The Prompt” is hosted by Katie Cummins, Director of Strategy and Analytics, and Kathy Brooks, Human Resources Manager, but it has been a staff collaboration from the beginning. There was a contest for staff to come up with the name. Noah Reinert, Lead DSP, came up with the current title. Alex Musel, Marketing Coordinator, came up with the artwork for the pod cast. The Staff Development Committee have been great at coming up with topics and ensuring it gets off the ground.
While the main audience target is our staff, the hope is that people that are interested in the Systems mission will also want to listen in. “There are so many stories to tell here at Systems Unlimited,” Katie Cummins stated. “I could really see this growing into having multiple themes with different podcasters that will all bring a different vantage point.” Katie would like to see things like interviews with parents that may help family members that have just moved or to discuss various ways we can meet the people we serve’s goals. “But, we need time to get this figured out first. It has taken a lot of research on just figuring out how to edit and get the theme music going,” Katie stated with a smile.
The first podcast is an explanation of it and how it all works. The second podcast is an interview with Mona Kenyon, SUI CEO. It is uncertain how often a new show will come out at this time but as Kathy and Katie get used to putting the podcast they hope to get quicker at it. As Kathy said on the podcast, “We really want this to help create connection and comradery. Maybe it will even become more of a home base than the office locations.”
