Systems Community Outreach Committee held a “Fashionably Late” Halloween Dance on November 3 at the North Liberty Recreation Center. Seventy-four people we serve came to share their Halloween costumes and join in on the fun. Thanks to all of the staff and local businesses that donated the food. Another big thanks to all of the staff that volunteered their time to make this a great night.
People had the option of dancing, playing various Halloween games, getting temporary tattoos or just hang with friends. A booth to get Halloween themed photos was popular with everyone. A quiet area where people could color and get away from the noise was also available.
The Community Outreach Committee is committed to making a variety of activities that people we serve will enjoy. This is in conjunction with the strategic plan on helping people re-enter the community. These events are at low to no cost for the people we serve due to generous donations. Please let Jolene Sorenson know if you would like to volunteer or donate for an upcoming event by emailing her at jolene.sorenson@sui.org.
We appreciate everyone that made this a fun night for the people we serve!
