Governor Kim Reynolds announced on April 7, 2022 that the state intends to close the Glenwood Resource Center by 2024. Glenwood is one of two remaining state run institutions for people living with disabilities. Systems Unlimited’s CEO, Casey Westhoff, and management team continue to monitor the situation to determine what Systems can do to transition people to our services.
While Systems is no stranger to transitioning people from the resource centers to community living, it does take extra planning. Many people come from institutions without many personal items and they may not be used to making choices about their daily living. The SUI Behavioral Health Solutions and Clinical team are typically involved with the transitions, especially at the beginning while people acclimate to a new environment.
