For more than 50 years, Systems Unlimited has ensured those facing barriers to independence can access the critical services they need. This includes providing safe, comfortable, local housing and teaching skills to promote self-reliance.
We are proud to live our mission every day—and support from our generous community makes this mission possible.

Send the people we serve on a once-in-a-lifetime trip they normally couldn’t afford. This fund was founded to honor Steve Smith and his love of travel.
Help people of all ages and abilities feel the holiday season all year. The Giving Tree Fund helps us purchase gifts and food gift cards for those we serve who don’t have family or friends to celebrate with during the holidays. It also supports the purchase of a special holiday meal.
Any leftover money is used to purchase needed clothing and household items for those we serve that are unable to afford them throughout the year.
Help us fund things above the basics. What is life without a little fun? This pays for agency activities for the people we serve so they can go bowling or see a movie in the theaters with other Systems friends.
Support various projects across the agency in the spring and the fall. Priorities for use of this fund change yearly. You can choose to fund the project or specify your money to go to something else.
Assist with operational costs at Systems Unlimited. You can also specify a division you want your money to go towards.
Systems Unlimited has endowments set up at the Community Foundation of Johnson County and the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation. There are a variety of ways to give to the Systems Unlimited endowments, and each method could provide a tax advantage. We recommend speaking with your tax professional and/or lawyer to determine the best strategy for you.
Gift types include cash, identification as a beneficiary of an insurance policy, a gift of real estate, a charitable gift annuity, the transfer of stock, a memorial gift, and naming the Systems Unlimited Endowment in a will.
To make a donation, please visit the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation or Community Foundation of Johnson County.
For more information about our endowment programs, please contact Director of Development and Communications Jolene Sorenson at jolene.sorenson@sui.org or 319-338-9212 ext. 1200.

We encourage those we serve to explore their life through art. Their artwork is made into t-shirts, coffee mugs, and various other items sold at local art shows. Proceeds from each sale go directly towards purchasing tools and supplies for our artists. Shop Now
