Systems Unlimited welcomed Jeff Disterhoft to its Board of Directors in February of this year. Jeff resides in North Liberty with his wife Missy. His children followed in his footsteps and both work in finance. His daughter, Ally, works for a venture capital firm in the Denver area, and son, Nate, works in New York as an investment banker for Bank of America.
Jeff earned a BA in Accounting from Buena Vista College and MBA from the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa. He worked as a public accountant for KPMG Peat Marwick in Omaha for several years, followed by two years at RSM (McGladry & Pullen) in Cedar Rapids. He joined GreenState Credit Union as CFO in 1995 and was promoted to President / CEO four years later.
Jeff has received awards and individual recognition as a leader in his field. He is no stranger to community involvement. He has served as a member, president and/or chair of multiple boards, groups and foundations across the area including the following:
- Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce
- Iowa City Community School District Foundation
- United Way of Johnson County Board of Directors
- Iowa City Area Development
- Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City
- Friends of the University of Iowa Libraries
- Alzheimer’s Association of Eastern Iowa
- Special Olympics of Iowa
- ICCSD Foundation Every Classroom Campaign
According to Jeff, the Systems’ mission has been close to his heart for some time. He decided to reach out to the board and staff leadership to see if there was a role for him here. When asked what he hoped to do as an SUI board member, Jeff answered, “To fully utilize my strengths and talents in a way that’s best aligned to the needs of Systems Unlimited.” Jeff is currently on the Resource Development Committee where his skills are most appreciated.
