Systems Unlimited is celebrating 50 years of providing quality services to people living with disabilities and mental health needs across eastern Iowa. When Systems opened in June of 1971, it is doubtful that the founding parents could envision the lives touched and growth of services over the past 50 years. Their main goal was to provide local services for their children that allowed them to become as independent as possible. Today, Systems still holds on to the original concepts of community inclusion, choice in daily life activities with an emphasis on independence.
People we serve, families, volunteers and staff all have contributed to Systems in special and meaningful ways. Over this next year, some of these stories will be told through our website and social media. There will be different activities and displays throughout the year so be sure to keep checking in to get the latest information on our 50th year long celebration.
